Cruise Ships, Float Planes, Boats : These are pictreus of different vehicles I encounter around my area. The cruise ships go right past my deck. I like to see them in the morning light as they go by. Please feel free to comment. The "Map It" location is wehre I took most of these pictrues from. Its a trail that runs way up high and looks over the Ketchikan water front.

Red Bay Cabin fishing trip : This was a fishing trip me and my son, and my buddy and his son went on at the end of july this year. We rented the Red Bay Cabin and went off in search of sockeye... Too bad, the sockeye are non existant this year so we decided to fly fish for humpies as they were the only fish running. And oh man, did we put a thumpin on the humpies... Anyway, it was the nicest forest service cabin I had been in so far. On a beautiful lake. You have to hike in about 0.5 miles to get to the forest service boat. then the cabin is about 1.5 miles up at the other end of the lake. Its far enough away that it does not get much vandalism. There is an incredibly COLD stream that comes into the lake just on the left edge of this first photo. we used it for our drining water since it was so nice and clear and there was so much moss growing on the rocks.

Flight from Ketchikan Alaska to Freeport Grand Bahama : This was the trip Jodi and I took to the Bahamas for the Townie Fiesta (a dental get together) and these are the pictures between Ketchikan and our room at the Hotel Our Lucaya in Freeport Grand Bahamas. Most of thesr were taken out the plane window and the sensor on my camera was VERY dirty so forgive the quality of the pictures. These are for interest sake, not quality sake....

Beach Glass : Jodi wanted to make her father something out of beach glass for his birthday this year. So, I took her down to my best "junk diving" beach since I knew it had alot of beach glass on it. This morining was a nice -2.0 low tide, so I knew it would be perfect for finding beach glass. Here are some shots from that outing...the amount of "junk" on that beach is stll amazing to me!

Lunch Creek Loop : Lunch Creek Loop is a state park trail at the north end of the road in Ketchikan Alaska. It is an easy 1 mile walk with beach access. A very beautiful walk in the South East Rainforst of the Tongass National Rainforest.

Whale Park : This is a small park in downtown Ketchikan. One of my favortite parks to go to. It is called Whale Park because when you fly over it and look at it from the above, it is in the shape of a whale. It also has a Geocache in it.

Ward Lake Trail : On Mothers Day, Jodi and I took the dags for a walk on the trail between Ward Lake and Last Chance Camp Ground. It was a beautiful sunny day. I thought I would take some pictures, but found all the extreams of light difficult to deal with. I could not do the day justice, but I tried....Man, I want that canon 24-105 L IS USM !

Totem Pole Raising : I had the honor of being invitred to the only reservation in Alaska (Metlakatla) for the opening of their new medical facility. They had a Totem Pole raising to commemorate the occasion. My brother-in-law got to participate in carrying the totem from the carvers shop to the new site. As you will see the day was a blustery day with lots of wind and rain.
